The much anticipated first phase of the new Ferndale on Republic opened on Thursday 28 March 2019 and includes the brand-new Pick n Pay, in their newly built 3,463m² store. Pick n Pay has called this location home since 1995 and we value their commitment and principles that ‘doing good is good business’. A fun fact, Pick n Pay was one of the first retailers to open their doors at the Randburg Waterfront and is now again one of the first retailers that opened their doors at Ferndale on Republic. Mr Raymond Ackerman, also known as the father of retail, purchased the first Pick n Pay store in Cape Town in 1967 and the chain has since grown to over 1680 stores in South Africa and seven other African countries. The brand is recognised as a most trusted retailer and the perfect partner for us as we embark on our next phase of growth at Ferndale on Republic.

Other large retail stores that celebrated their opening on Thursday, 28 March 2019 were Ackermans and Mr Price. We also welcomed Torga Optical, Cell C and Spicy Den as new retailers. Plus, you won’t ever go hungry! We now have a Panarotti’s, Fern Creek Spur and the Brooklyn Biltong store to cater for all your needs, no matter what the time of day. Pop in for a meal morning, noon and night, or just for a snack in-between. You are sure to find all your shopping needs are covered under one roof. Do you want a glimpse behind the scenes and stay up to date with a unique construction experience at Ferndale on Republic? Join our Hard Hat Tours to see how the buildings and phases are evolving from a previous parking area to an amazing new mall.
