As we’re approaching the final stages in the redevelopment of Ferndale on Republic into a mixed-use community shopping centre, we’re sharing some of the features in architecture and design. This is more than just a modern a redesigned appearance. Here’s what you can look forward to at our grand re-opening in August.

Ferndale on Republic serves a large community in the Randburg area and is conveniently located with easy access off Republic Road. In addition to the well-planned access to and flow of the location, the redevelopment offers our customers an easy ‘Stop & Shop’ experience with free parking. The architects, MDS Architecture were tasked to create more than enough additional and safe parking areas around the centre, as a top priority.

We’re also improving our customer’s sensory experience in creating a space with visual greenery and natural areas that include features like green screens and living green walls where our community can come together, not only to shop, but also to stroll along the pedestrian pathways, enjoying the atmosphere and environment of the centre.

Shoppers can also look forward to a new covered extension with high ceilings and windows, exposed beams and warm red-brick finish design to create the feeling of an old-time railway shed – with an upmarket twist.
In addition to the retail node, and in keeping with current trends in combining retail development and lifestyle needs, Ferndale on Republic also has dedicated commercial office space. We’re giving our community more reasons to visit Ferndale On Republic, we’re changing the landscape of shopping by becoming a space that brings more value to our community for working, meeting, leisure time, a healthier lifestyle, shopping and plenty more memorable experiences!
